Although our priority is always that our customers are satisfied when they taste our wines, there is no doubt that receiving international recognition is always a satisfaction. This is even greater when it comes to gold medals in two of the most important competitions in the sector: the Mundus Vini and the CWSA Best Value (China Wine & Spirits).
In the case of Mundus Vini, the results of the 2022 spring tasting, held in Neustad (Germany), have just come out. No less than 3,022 wines from 42 different countries have participated in this contest, a true record that proves the good health of the wine sector.
Bodegas La Purisima has achieved that two of its varieties have been recognized with the following medals:
– La Purisima Old Vines Expression 2010 – Gold Medal
– La Purisima Monastrell 2020 – Silver Medal
– Consent Monastrell Barrica 2019, which in addition to the Gold medal has been awarded as the best Yecla wine in its category.
All of these wines, along with the rest that have received various awards, will be honored at the ProWein fair, scheduled for mid-May. During the event, the corresponding certificates will be delivered by the contest organizers.
As we said, this has not been the only contest in which the quality of our wines has been recognized. Thus, we can be proud that four other wines have received their respective Gold medals in the most prestigious contest in China and on the Asian continent, the CWSA Best Value 2022, dedicated to assessing the value for money of the products presented.
The contest was held at the end of February in the city of Hong Kong and was attended by a jury made up of representatives of the main wine buying companies in the country. Its members, importers, sommeliers and distributors, blindly tasted wines from 55 countries.
By assessing aspects such as mouthfeel, aroma and color, the jury decided to award a Gold medal to our following wines:
– Spoiled Monastrell Cask 2019
– Red Summer 2020
– Philharmonic 2020
– La Purisima Monastrell 2020 gold medal
These recognitions, in addition to the logical pride that they make us feel and the satisfaction for contributing to the expansion of the DO Yecla, represent a great boost when it comes to opening new international markets for our wines, since the event held in China usually serves as a gateway entrance to a market as important as the Asian one.
