The Hon. Yecla City Council and the Wine Route convene the III Open-Air Barrel Intervention Contest in the Parque de la Constitución de Yecla, in accordance with the following


BASES


1. OBJECT AND PURPOSE OF THE CALL


The purpose of these rules is the regulation of the III OPEN-AIR BARREL INTERVENTION COMPETITION, organized by the Yecla Wine Route in collaboration with the Yecla City Council and directed by the artist from Yecla, Emilio Pascual, with the aim of promoting the art and the culture of wine within the framework of the celebration of the activity "Envero de la Monastrell".


2. PARTICULARITIES OF THE CALL


Each of the selected entries, whether they have been made individually or in groups, will have a single barrel with which the participants will have to make their work. The Bordeaux oak barrels, approximately one meter high and 70 centimeters in diameter, made up of about 8 metal rings and about 35 staves, will be provided by the organization of the event.


Thus, the materials with which the works will be carried out will consist fundamentally of the barrels themselves or their constituent elements, and these may be subject to any kind of manipulation. The technique will therefore be free, so that, for example, the barrels can be painted or pyrographed, but also dismantled, their staves, metal rings and lids sawn, bent and reassembled. Other materials or objects other than the barrels may also be incorporated.


3. ASSESSMENT CRITERIA FOR AWARDING THE PRIZE


Prizes will be awarded based on the artistic value of the works and their originality. The theme will be free, however, in order to provide greater coherence to the call, those interventions that are related to wine and its world will be highly valued.


4. PARTICIPANTS


All persons of legal age, both foreign and national, as well as all students who are studying in Baccalaureates or Faculties of Fine Arts, may choose to participate in the contest.


Participation in the contest may be carried out individually or in groups, with the number of individual participants or groups of participants being limited to 10.


5. REGISTRATION


A single registration form will be completed per individual participant or group of participants. The signing of the same supposes a declaration of knowledge of the Bases, as well as the commitment to comply with them. The inscriptions must be accompanied by the respective photocopies of the DNI or passport of the applicants (other documents that are irrefutably accredited are accepted) and a small Letter of Presentation or Curriculum Vitae.


The fact of participating in the contest implies full acceptance of all that is established in this call.


Registration applications and other documents required for participation in the contest can be downloaded from the website www.rutadelvinodeyecla.com or collected at the Yecla Tourist Office until July 18, 2022.


6. DEADLINE FOR PRESENTATION OF THE REGISTRATION FORM


The deadline for submitting entries will end on July 18 at 2:00 p.m., the end of the deadline for the stamping and registration of the contestants, at the Yecla Tourist Office (Plaza Mayor, s/n. Yecla) or, via online, through the registration form available at rutadelvinoyecla.com


The data and information included in the requests will be treated in accordance with the provisions of current legislation on the protection and processing of personal data (Organic Law, Organic Law 15/1999, of December 13, on the Protection of Personal Data). 7. SELECTION OF PARTICIPANTS


The individual participants or groups of participants will be selected by the executive committee of the Yecla Wine Route in coordination with the director of the contest Emilio Pascual, the number of individual participants or groups of participants being limited to 10.


On July 19, the list of participants or groups of participants will be published on the website.


8. THE FOLLOWING PRIZES ARE ESTABLISHED


FIRST PRIZE €500

SECOND PRIZE €300

THIRD PRIZE €200


The contest is endowed with 3 prizes of 500, 300 and 200 euros, for first, second and third classified. In addition, the rest of the participants will obtain a second prize of €100 for their participation in the contest.


All works, both award-winning and non-award winning, will become the property of the Yecla Wine Route Association, the authors renouncing all rights that correspond to them.


The works will be exhibited until July 23, 2023 in the different establishments associated with the Yecla Wine Route, when this date arrives, and if the Organization so decides, the works may be auctioned.


9. JURY


It will be made up of the director of the contest, Emilio Pascual, and representatives of the Yecla Wine Route, the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin and the Hon. Yecla City Council, making themselves known through the Yecla Wine Route website prior to the holding of the contest.


10. CELEBRATION OF THE CONTEST


The contest will be held on July 23, 2022 in the PARQUE DE LA CONSTITUCIÓN in YECLA, between 09:00 and 18:00.


The Organization will contact the artists in the days prior to the contest to provide the basic material that the participants may need (paint, spray, brushes...). Any more specific material or tool must be provided by the artist.


On the same day of the contest and around 2:00 p.m., the organization will deliver a lunch to all the participants.


11. AUTHORIZATION TO YECLA WINE ROUTE FOR THE CAPTURE AND USE OF IMAGES AND TESTIMONIAL


The participants give their consent and acceptance so that during the day of the contest the sequences and/or interviews that Ruta del Vino de Yecla considers necessary to carry out a report that will be broadcast in different media are captured and recorded. and the Ruta del Vino platforms themselves (web, RR.SS...)


12. DECISION OF THE JURY AND DELIVERY OF AWARDS


The jury, meeting for this purpose on July 23, 2022, will decide who among the participants or groups of participants will be the winners.


The ruling will be communicated, after the end of the contest, in the same space where the works are carried out, starting at 8:00 p.m. and the award ceremony will take place during the planned activity this afternoon.


The prizes will be delivered gross, that is, subject to the applicable tax regulations.


The decision of the contest is unappealable.


13.- EXHIBITION:


Participants will receive a certificate acknowledging their participation in the contest. Subsequently, the works may be exhibited in the different establishments associated with the Yecla Wine Route.


14.- ORGANIZATION:


Wine Route and the Exmo. Yecla City Council, collaborator of the contest, reserves the right to make modifications or take initiatives not regulated in this call, provided that they contribute to the greater success of the call for reasons of general interest.


The organization will take the utmost care in the conservation of the works, but will not be liable for any damage they may suffer during the time they are in its custody.


15.- ACCEPTANCE OF THE BASES AND RESPONSIBILITY


Participation in this contest implies the express acceptance, and compliance, of each of the Bases of this call, as well as the decisions of the organizing entity and the Jury, which will be additional to what is established in these bases and which will be unappealable.


Any doubt that may arise and that has not been foreseen by the bases will be resolved by the Yecla Wine Route Board of Directors.
