Last weekend Yecla Wine Route joined the celebration of the European Day of Wine Tourism (RECEVIN) with an attractive proposal, perfect excuse to make known the first Monastrell wines of the year.
On Saturday at 9 o'clock in the evening, around 300 people gathered at Bodegas La Purísima to attend La Noche Tinta, a tasting of the wines of this house paired with the tapas of Restaurante Los Chispos, a prelude to the concert offered by The Troupers , a magnificent tribute to ABBA that made move the skeleton and sing to all the attendees.
Among the thick fog of Sunday morning, around 175 people arrived at Finca El Espinal, the first stage of the Enotouristic Marathon, where the Castaño family presented their first pink and red Monastrell wines, with a jacket top. Then it was the turn of Almazara de Ortegas to welcome this large group and present their first oils of this harvest and to welcome the first wines of Evine Bodegas 2015. The day ended at Bodegas Señorío de Barahonda, where dozens of honey and chocolate librarians prepared by Libricos Yecla. They waited for all the participants. And of course, the first Monastrell made by the Candela family.
The reception of this proposal has been exceptional, with a significant growth in the number of participants in each of the activities. It is important to highlight the attendees from outside our city, which are gradually becoming more and more, as a result of the promotional campaigns that are carried out.
In general, a year full of initiatives by Ruta del Vino de Yecla that step by step is generating again in the citizenship an awareness of Ciudad del Vino, a winegrowing town and winemaker with our native and unique variety, the Monastrell , and moderate consumers, with greater and better knowledge of these wines.
