Taking as stage the emblematic Yeclano theater "Concha Segura", on Friday, May 27, 2011, at 8:30 p.m., there will be the Gala Presentation of the "Yecla Wine Route" .
This route joins the wide circuit of wine routes in the country, with the purpose of promoting and promoting wine tourism in Yecla , whose wines have garnered a multitude of awards at national and international level. This, together with the cultural wealth of Yecla, makes the city a very attractive destination for wine tourism.
The representatives of the Wine Route Association of Yecla, the Yecla Denomination of Origin Regulatory Council and the Department of Agriculture and Tourism have decided to hold the IV Yecla Wine Selection Competition and the presentation of the Wine Route of Yecla next Friday, May 27.
Both activities were moved from date when the Regional Government decreed three days of official mourning in the Autonomous Community of Murcia, for the victims of the earthquake in Lorca, which occurred on May 11.
Thus, the program of events remains complete. In the morning, in the Tasting Room of the Regulatory Council, the jury of the contest will analyze the samples of the wines presented to contest by the wineries assigned to the Denomination of Origin Yecla, under the direction of the prestigious journalist and oenologist Andrés Proensa, to whom expert tasters from Spain.
The delivery of prizes to the winning wineries will take place during the dinner organized for that purpose, at Los Chispos Restaurant in our city, after the Gala Presentation of the Yecla Wine Route.
At 20.00 hours, the oenological booths installed in the Parque de la Constitución will be opened to the public, for the popular tasting of Yecla wines.
Next, the Group of Choirs and Dances of the Association Francisco Salzillo de Yecla will dance the Fandango outside the Concha Segura theater, as a reception for the guests of the Presentation Gala of the Wine Route.
The act will begin at 20.30 with a scenic performance in honor of the Wine performed by Choirs and Dances, and then the Yecla Wine Route will be presented by the President of the Association, Juan Pedro Castaño, and the interventions of the authorities local and regional
As announced, the 2011 Enoturista del Año award will also be given to the Yeclana singer Sole Giménez, who will offer a recital accompanied by the piano, on the stage of the Concha Segura.
The Gala is open to the public, until the capacity of the theater is completed, and tickets can be collected at the Municipal Tourism Office, starting on Wednesday, May 25.
