The Denomination of Origin of Yecla dates from 1972 and shines with its great emblem: the Monastrell grape. City Council of Yecla, Tourism, Culture and Celebrations of Yecla and Yecla Wine Route organize the great Wine Fair 2018 on the weekend of September 7, 8 and 9. Full of activities, folklore, tastings and tastings, this call always brings together thousands of people in Yecla and, in this edition, RNE journalist Noemí Martínez will receive the Enotourist of the Year Award.

Yes, let's remember that Yecla's wine tradition is a benchmark in Spain and has Denomination of Origin since 1972, nowadays covering more than 7,200 hectares of vineyards. The Wine Route of Yecla has been consolidated as a team work that promotes events throughout the year to show the city as a real place of sensations. The Yecla Wine Route has 5 wineries and some 40 associated establishments. Last year alone attracted more than 4,500 visitors, almost 50% of them from various foreign countries.
