The month of September is very intense and special for the Yecla Wine Route (Murcia) because the harvest begins, but also for initiatives as popular as its famous folklore festival and the great Wine Tourism Gala.
Together with the City Council of Yecla, PDO Yecla and other collaborators, the Yecla Wine Route Association organizes numerous activities around wine tourism, which continues to grow exponentially in the city. A firm commitment to spread culture, gastronomy and nature through the universe that surrounds wine, with its own name in Yecla since 1972, and that attracts thousands of people every year.
Wine tourism "is a revulsive for inland tourism and energizes the productive and social fabric of this municipality." The transition between summer and autumn is a very relevant time for the Yecla Wine Route Association, given that massive events are held such as the Harvest Festival and the Wine Tourism Gala. This edition, again, the balance has been very positive in terms of participation and promotion of the culture, gastronomy and nature of Yecla, a benchmark of wine tourism that continues to grow exponentially. 
The Yecla Wine Route has registered since the beginning of the year and until August a total of 3,890 visitors, 6.6% more than in the same period of the previous year. Recall that during the last campaign the wine production reached 9 million and a half liters and the annual report of visitors 'Wine Route Spain' has highlighted the increase of 27.5% compared to 2018. A very prominent figure.
Very satisfactory balance in full harvest
The wine tourism of Yecla, booming for a decade and with the genuine 'Monastrell' grape as an emblem of its harvests, has lived a very special month. The first weekend of September, the Yecla Wine Route, in collaboration with the City Council, the PDO Yecla and the Association of Choirs and Dances "Francisco Salzillo" organized the "Fiestas de la Vendimia 2019", with the performance of Choirs and Dances of Santomera, Choirs and Dances of Calzada de Calatrava and Choirs and Dances of Yecla, in addition to the traditional tasting and tasting of Yeclan products.
On the last weekend of September, the Teatro Concha Segura hosted the great Wine Nomination Gala and designated José Miguel López, director of the 'Discópolis' program of Radio 3 (RNE), as Winemaker of the Year. Recall that the Yecla Wine Route is composed of 4 wineries (Castaño, Barahonda, La Purísima and Evine) and about 40 establishments (accommodation, restaurants, mills and shops), a claim that is already part of the best wine tourism in Spain.
