Next November 16 , there will be the celebration of the 4th edition of the Enological Festival Fiestas de la Virgen , which, as in past editions, will gather an amateur taster competition in the morning, with the afternoon delivery awards, together with the conference focused on the world of winemaking and a tasting of wines from our land.
The contest of tasters will be held at 11 am at the headquarters of the Regulatory Council of the DO Vinos de Yecla and it has a non-professional character.

The direction of the contest and the conference will be in charge of Pedro Martínez Fernández , cataloged as one of the best sommeliers in Spain . In 2001, when he was only 27 years old, he was distinguished as the best sommelier in Spain when he proclaimed himself the winner of the " Nariz de Oro " contest, the largest competition in Spain specializing in wines, as well as winning the Iberia Gran Classe Award for the best Spanish sommeliers . He has worked at the El Bulli and Arzak restaurants and has been the head of the Hospitality Department at El Corte Inglés.
Highlighting his achievements as national director of Market Development in the company J. Garcia Carrión - Vinos de Familia. Currently, he directs his own business and works as an external advisor on relevant projects in his sector. Conductor of successful television programs such as "De la vid al vino" and "El Rincon del Somiller" , he teaches courses and lectures and participates in tastings around the world, as well as taking part as a jury in exhibitions and specialized events. He is the author of numerous publications and has prestigious awards and special mentions granted within the gastronomy sector. Master in viticulture, winemaking and wine marketing. He has recently obtained the official degree from The Wine & Spirit Education Trust and has taken a viticulture course at UC Davis - California.
