Celebration night for Yecla wines that were examined before a professional jury. The XI edition of the wine contest of the Denomination of Origin Yecla gathered yesterday more than a hundred people who attended the awards ceremony and subsequent dinner organized by the Regulatory Council.
The jury, made up of 12 tasters linked to the world of wine from different professional positions, evaluated the 73 wine samples that were presented this year at the council's facilities. A figure much higher than in previous years. An increase of the wines to contest linked to that this year was of obligatory fulfillment the recognition of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The result showed that Bodegas Señorío de Barahonda obtained 5 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals. Bodegas La Purísima won 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. Bodegas Castaño won 3 silver and 3 bronze medals. And the Bodega Casa Boquera won 1 silver medal.
