PDO Yecla will be present in the activities of Murcia 2020 Spanish Capital of Gastronomy . The headquarters of the capital, located on the ground floor of the Romea Theater, will host a total of 15 tastings of the nine wineries belonging to the Yecla Protected Designation of Origin. The main protagonist will be the Monastrell grape, although there will be a place for other varieties authorized by the DO and that are also part of the Yeclanos wines.

The main objective of these tastings is to bring the different wines of PDO Yecla to the Murcian public, which each year allocates around 90% of its production to foreign trade in more than 40 countries. Within the cycle there will also be sessions of Vertical Tastings, which will be aimed at professionals in the hospitality sector.

The 15 popular tastings will take place between the months of February and October and will last approximately one and a half hours. It will be Wednesdays and Fridays, starting at 7pm,
and those interested can obtain all the information, as well as the registration link, through the social networks of the PDO.

The winery responsible for opening the Yeclano cycle will be Bodegas Castaño, which will be followed by the rest of the wineries of the Yecla PDO:


Bodegas la Purísima, Antonio Candela, Count of Montornés, Wineries and vineyards Evine, Barahonda, Casa Boquera and Casa de las Especias.
