The only wine awarded by the Yecla PDO in the III Edition of the Alicante Gastronomic Fair
Last September the celebration of the III Edition of the Alicante Gastronomic Fair took place at IFA - Alicante Fair Institute, a meeting of Mediterranean lifestyle in which the wines and cuisine of Barahonda were present.
In the place, different activities were carried out, such as gastronomic experiences or a wine contest. The contest consisted of 24 experts from the Valencian Community and Murcia, as well as national tasters and prestigious sommeliers; a jury that has qualified 148 references of the DOP Alicante, DO Valencia, DO Utiel-Requena, DOP Yecla, DOP Jumilla, DOP Bulla and the IGP Castelló.
A total of 38 wineries have been awarded 21 gold and 32 silver medals as producers of the best wines in the 1st Mediterranean Wine Contest. Our Barahonda Barrica 2019 wine has been awarded a silver medal, being the only wine that has been awarded the Yecla PDO.
