This contest is organized with the collaboration of the Wine Route of Yecla, the regulatory council of the appellation of origin "Vinos de Yecla" and the City Council of Yecla and is oriented to the dissemination of the wine culture and the promotion of wine that they elaborate the yeclanas cellars.
The Councilor of Tourism Inmaculada García, the President of the Juan Pedro Castaño Wine Route and the President of the Minerva José Luis Soriano Square, have presented the VII Oenological Contest, Fiestas de la Virgen, which will take place on Saturday, November 26 . This event is organized with the collaboration of the Wine Route of Yecla, the regulatory council of the appellation of origin "Vinos de Yecla" and the City of Yecla. It is an event oriented to the dissemination of the wine culture and the promotion of wine produced by wineries and yeclanas.
It will start at 11:00 am with an "amateur" tasting contest, at the DO Yecla Council. It is aimed at people who are not professionals dedicated to winemaking, but beginners. Prizes will be awarded to the first three classified, of which the first will be delivered by the City of Yecla with an amount of 200 euros, the second the Wine Route with an amount of 150 euros and the third the Squadron Minerva with an amount of 100 euros All participants will obtain a diploma and a bottle of wine. The rules of the contest can be found on the website of the Escuadra Minerva Association www.escuadraminerva.com. Pre-registration ends on November 20 with a limited attendance of 30 people.
In second place, a conference will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the Municipal Auditorium. It will be led by sommelier Javier López Lorenzo, specialized in tasting techniques and sensory analysis. He is the creator of the company "Somm" from which he is committed to the knowledge and dissemination of gastronomic and nutritional values through tastings and tastings. His proposals are entertaining and fun, highlighting his tastings of wines and oils, in addition to his workshops in which he seeks to discover the most subtle and pleasurable sensations. Then the prizes of the contest held a few hours before will be delivered.
