On Saturday, May 20, DAY MOVIMIENTO VINO DO will be held for the first time, a day promoted by 24 Designations of Origin and by CECRV (Conference
Spanish Wine Regulating Councils) with the aim of enjoying and bringing the wine with Denomination of Origin to the general public and young people in particular.
The MOVIMIENTO VINO DO DAY is conceived as a festive, popular and participative day in which the main protagonist will be the wine with Denomination of Origin. Therefore, the central act will be a great collective toast, at 13: 30h, in which thousands of people at once, from different parts of our country, will provide simultaneously for the wine with DO, a simple gesture with which to put in value the quality of this product and bring it closer to those who have not yet discovered it.
There are already 24 Denominations of Origin that have been added to the celebration of this day: Alicante, Almansa, Arlanza, Binissalem-Mallorca, Bizkaiko Txakolina, Bullas, Calatayud, Cariñena, Catalunya, Cigales, Condado de Huelva, Jerez-Xéres-Sherry , La Mancha, Madrid, Montilla-Moriles, Navarra, Rías Baixas, Ribeira Sacra, Ribera del Guadiana, Rioja, Valdepeñas, Valencia, Utiel-Requena and Yecla.
The 24 Designations of Origin participating in this initiative will plan their own events, so that the celebration of the MOVIMIENTO VINO DO DAY will be different in each area, although all of them will share some common elements: the tasting of DO wines, the collective toast to the 13: 30h, which will be the central act of the day, and the closing, which will be marked by music.
