Four wineries of the DO Yecla were promoting the wines of the area in the International Wine and Spirits Fair 2018 fair that takes place in Hong Kong.
They have traveled to the Asian city with the help of ICEX Spain Export and Investment.
Bodegas La Purísima, Bodegas Familia Castaño, Bodegas Barahonda and Viñedos and Casa de las Especias wineries are thus prepared to continue opening the Asian market, highly attractive for the Spanish wine sector.
According to the data of consumption of wine in Asia, Hong Kong enjoys the highest index with 4.8 liters per inhabitant per year, has a population of 7.41 million inhabitants of high purchasing power (46,200 USD per capita) and receives during 2017 to more than 58 million tourists.
In addition, it is a free port and has no tariffs and taxes on wine, which has allowed it to become a re-export center.
